I just needed to install my computer from scratch after the importers replaced the harddisk under guarantee. I have reinstalled all my programs and they all work fine.

Before downloading this widget I wanted to clear out my current Windows XP SP2 trash basket.

(I have the Swiss version of XP so translations of terms below may not be correct) :-/

- Hidden system files etc. are set to be displayed
- When I open the XP trash the page is empty = no files are shown
- On clicking "Empty trash&…quot; it asks whether the 42 files should be deleted - I click yes (note - 42 files but none are displayed)
- The deletion stops with "The file Dl76 cannot be deleted. The directory is not empty".
- "New" files I send to the trash ARE listed and can be deleted as usual but the 42 invisible files still remain and cannot be deleted.
- I tried deleting them in XP safety mode - same error
- I did a file search and then a registry search for Dl76 - nothing can be found More

I may be wrong but, I think this is more efficient than actually having the windows recycle bin on the desktop.

Nice looking, useful. The only thing to watch out for is the default "trash checking" interval is 2 seconds, which makes my CPU usage to up and down between 2% ~ 30%. I think for a rate of 15 or 30 minutes should suffice for checking trash, no?
