TachClock

by Peter Govaars

I always wanted a modern interpretation of a pocket watch to match this digital age we live in. Since I had no way to build it in real life, I did the next best thing: I created a Konfabulator Widget instead.

This clock displays time using a 'digital tachometer' style display, where each lit indicator represents an elapsed hour, minute, or second. Simply read the number of indicators lit for the hours, minutes, and seconds to determine the time. Fortunately, this is easier than it might More

Ingenious! I'd like to have a real watch that's designed this way. I'd buy it from Swatch or Casio if they do design it. Thank you Peter, for your great imagination.

Very nice widget indeed. Much like some of the others, the only change I would suggest is the chime.

This is great! I didn't think I needed a clock on my desktop, but after reading all the positive comments I couldn't help but install this one. Now I love it!

One thing I would love to see is when it clears the seconds, minutes or hours, instead of just clearing, how about if it quickly cycles backwards? Just like a real tach would when changing gears. So the seconds would slowly tick up, up, up and then when it reaches 60, it quickly zips back, unlighting as it goes.
